Rev. Larry Tuton

Pastor Larry Tuton’s roots are in the Nebraska farm country.  Both of his parents were born and raised in Nebraska.  He and his family migrated to California in 1949.  It was there that the Lord called Larry into the Ministry.  Upon graduating from high school, Larry enrolled in Southern California College (SCC), Costa Mesa, California. He graduated from SCC in 1965.

While attending SCC, Larry met Ellawena Mack.  Her family was originally from Canada and had moved to Arizona in 1958.  Her parents, Rev Arnold & Ella Mack, were pastors at the Grantway Assembly of God Church in Tucson Arizona.  Ellawena also had a definite call of God on her life for Ministry.

They were married in 1965 & have two adult children:  a son, Brent; daughter, Cheryl; son-in-law, Robert, 4 Grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, & another on the way.

The first four years of ministry they served as Youth Pastors at Grantway Assembly of God in Tucson.  During that time, Larry also worked with the Child Welfare Department of Pima County in Tucson, Arizona.  They served as senior pastors for 39 years at five Assemblies of God church in Arizona (Clifton/Morenci, Phoenix South Mountain, Yuma First Assembly, Sierra Vista Mountain View, and Phoenix North Mountain).  They retired from full-time ministry in 2008.

Since their retirement, they have been very active, in various capacities at Church on the Green and have loved every minute of it! Pastor Larry accepted the position of Associate Pastor of Visitation Ministries in August 2015. This includes visitation and follow up of all first time visitors, as well as ministering to the “Home Bound Saints”.  The Tuton’s consider this position a great honor and they already see God working in many ways.
